ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System is a 100% solids, two component epoxy resin system containing colored pigments and mixed with a wide selection of decorative aggregates. Our Deco-Quartz System is trowel applied to a ¹/₄" to ³/₈ " nominal thickness to provide an attractive terrazzo finish. This surface provides outstanding durability and wear resulting in the lowest life cycle cost of any flooring system available. ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System does not support bacterial growth, and it is also available in a conductive form to eliminate static electricity.

Substrate temperature must be 55° F.

CURE TIME

18 - 24 hours prior to grinding.

APPLICATION

Surface Preparation

Concrete surfaces must be in sound condition and properly prepared using Blastrac dust free equipment. Contact ESS, LLC. technical support department for surface preparation guidelines.

Installation

Set divider strips according to architect's specifications for appearance.

Prime the substrate with ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz LV Primer 100% solid epoxy primer. Allow to set for a minimum of 30 minutes before applying ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System.

Install ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System to the thickness specified in the architect's design.

Trowel finish and compact to desired thickness and allow to cure.

Rough grind ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System surface using 24 grit stones then follow with a medium grind using 80 grit stones.

Grout terrazzo surface with ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System to seal the surface and fill pores and pinholes. Allow the floor to cure overnight.

Polish by grinding the surface with fine grit stones. Grouting and polishing procedure may need to be repeated if porosity remains.

Clean surface thoroughly and seal with ESS, LLC. LVUV 21 depending on the specified performance requirements.

MAINTENANCE

After completing the application of ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System, the installer should provide the owner with maintenance instructions. If floors become slippery due to animal fats, oil, grease, or soap film, clean and rinse thoroughly. ESS, LLC. Deco-Quartz System is easily cleaned with neutral soaps or detergents. Routine mechanical scrubbing is recommended for all surfaces having a non-skid texture; waxing is optional. Long periods of heavy traffic may cause wear patterns necessitating a maintenance application of a finish coat. The system can be installed with little to a lot of slip resistance, equal to 36 grit sandpaper; this depends on the needs of the customer.
